Searching for birth mother and father if possible. I was born in Louisville General Hospital in 1967 and raised in Shelbyville, Ky by adopted parents Richard and Laura Harris. I was in the foster care system and officially adopted in around 1971 or 1972. My birth mother's name was Peggy Jean Downs-Brown and she was 29 yrs old when she gave birth to me. She did have other children but I do not know their names. I had my adoption records opened and it specified that she had 3 other daughters and their ages at the time of my birth was 17, 14 and 10.
My adopted parents are Richard Harris DOB 8-9-1935 and Laura Harris DOB 10-5-1936. We are all African-American and both adopted parents were born and raised in Shelbyville, Ky. My adopted parents had several foster children who all became adopted by other parents and they also adopted two other children boys named Danny Harris (birth name Kirby Dean) and Glenn Harris (birth last name Spencer) no other info was given. There was no birth father info supplied in the adoption records. My adoption records indicated that the birth father did not participate in my bio mother's pregnancy or birth |
